Managing PFAS phaseout from the textile industry. How the bluesign® SYSTEM can help ensuring compliance and customer confidence.

PFAS (Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a large group of man-made chemicals. Once celebrated for their unique set of properties PFAS have come lately under scrutiny and regulatory pressure. Some PFAS have been used in various applications in textiles but may be found also as non-intentionally added ingredients. In line with regulatory action and consumer concerns, bluesign advocates to phaseout PFAS from most uses in textiles. This presentation gives an overview of the current state of play regarding international regulatory action and shares experiences and success stories. It will highlight how the holistic bluesign® SYSTEM may support a PFAS phaseout strategy.
