Ryzon has been working for about a year and a half on a competition suit that can support thermoregulation. The body temperature must not get too high in Hawaii.
Frodeno's racing suit captivates with a miracle cure, as it is called in the clothing industry: graphene material, which is obtained from graphite. It is a conductive material that distributes the ice or water that can be deposited in the pockets throughout the body.
Graphene webs were printed on the entire inside of the suit, which ensure that the torso is cooled. Based on the new double pocket system - also on the inside of the suit, which is used for storing ice and beverage bags - the graphene directs the cold to selected areas of the upper body and to the lasts.
A further challenge for all manufacturers of triathlon clothing is that it must be created for all elements: From the water it must dry quickly, for cycling it must be well padded, but also aerodynamic. And for running it should be light.
Jan Frodeno wears a made-to-measure suit. The company is considering whether there will be a small series of its suits on sale in 2020. A suit could cost about 900 euros.
